If you are reading this you would know that one of the major causes of failure is procrastination. Do you suffer from this?

“Procrastination is one of the most common and deadliest of diseases and its toll on success and happiness is heavy.”
~ Wayne Gretzky

Every leader has the habit of making decisions quickly and changing them very slowly.

The majority of people that fail to provide sufficiently for their needs are generally easily influenced by the opinion of others. They permit the newspapers, television, radio, and the the thoughts of others to speak into their lives without discretion. Being easily influenced by the opinions of others will kill any desire you may have.

Learn to keep your own counsel of people that are in complete sympathy and harmony with your purpose. Seek their advice but come to your own conclusions and follow up immediately with ACTION.

“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.”
~Walt Disney

If you need facts or information from other people, get the information quickly and discreetly. It is a shield from potential negative and from people that set out to defeat you because they envy you.

A general rule of thumb, “keep a closed mouth and open ears and eyes.”

Those that make decisions promptly and decisively usually get what they want because they know EXACTLY what they want.

Defeating procrastination takes real courage but those that are willing to live by their purpose have the world in their hands.

“You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
~ Martin Luther King Jr.

The common inclination of most people is to do the minimum it takes to get by. If you look at these people carefully, you will observe this “getting by” as temporary and little benefit is being received in return. Why is that?

Two Major Reasons Why You Must Practice This Law:

  1. Just like any other form of conditioning, you become stronger with use and you atrophy with little or no use
  2. By rendering better service than that for which you are paid, you are turning the spotlight on yourself. Through this law of cause and effect there will be a continuous increase in the demand for your services

By rendering more service and better service than that for which you are paid, you will stand in bold contrast to others in your line of service. If you feel under appreciated; through continuously increasing effort and persistence, doors will open you did not know existed. Do not worry about where the returns will come because it is a universal law, they will come. Just feel good about the excellent service you provided and let the Universe do the rest.

” Do the thing and you shall have the power.”

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Success is a system and not a secret is what I have learned through Napoleon Hill and the Foundation that was created in his name. I have learned that like attracts like and that thoughts become things because what we think about we become. Through our imagination we create plans and put them into action. We go the extra mile in all our interactions. Our motto is, “Do it Now!” The foundational principles for outstanding success are:

1. Definiteness of Purpose
2. Mastermind Alliance
3. Applied Faith
4. Habit of Going The Extra Mile

Napoleon Hill believed in a Master Mind that used the collective consciousness of its members to actively solve problems and create new ideas and plans. It begins with a definite purpose rendered with better service than that for which one is paid, done in a positive mental attitude, and with a creative imagination that is applied with faith. Remember, faith without action is merely a wish.

A definite purpose backed by applied faith, is a form of wisdom, and wisdom in action, produces positive results.

Decide now what you want out of life and what you will give in return for it. Begin right now where you stand. Then as you progress other and better means will be revealed to you.

If you do not have a definite purpose then make your definite purpose to find your definite purpose, date it, and sign it. Dr. Joe Dudley used a 6 hour reading program of Think and Grow Rich once a week to create a very successful international company known as Dudley, Inc.

Napoleon Hill, through his twenty-odd years of creating this philosophy, noticed that 5% of the population that were succeeding had a definite purpose and a definite plan to achieve their aim.

If you are a true student of Hill’s philosophy, become a master by teaching it to others. Thereby you guarantee your compensation in advance. It is well know that the “teacher” learns the lesson better than the students. So, come join us in the Mastermind Online and become a contributor. Experience the exponential growth you can tap. Have faith in the fact that you can give people the opportunity and the knowledge to improve their lot in life just by sharing what you know. This can be profoundly liberating. The Mastermind Online membership desires to put faith into practice so that we may inspire others to take control of their destinies. What a beautiful world it would be if we all had a labor of love to follow.

Through the habit of going the extra mile you can attract to you whatever you desire. Help enough people get what they want and you will automatically get what you want.

Fundamentals of Applied Faith

  1. ACTION! Action cures fear. Nothing great has ever been achieved without the Habit of Going the Extra Mile.
  2. Positive Mental Attitude free from negative emotions
  3. Recognition of the fact that every adversity carries with it the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit and no temporary defeat is a failure until you consider it so.
  4. Recognition of the intelligence that gives order to every thing in the universe.
  5. Let your imagination see yourself in the possession of your definite purpose.

Faith is a positive mental attitude in action!

  1. Definiteness of Purpose, supported by personal initiative or action.
  2. The habit of Going the Extra Mile in all human relationships.
  3. A Master Mind alliance with one or more people who radiate courage based on Faith, and who are suited spiritually and mentally to one’s needs in carrying out a given purpose.
  4. A Positive Mind, free from all negatives, such as fear, envy, greed, hatred, jealousy, and superstition.
  5. Recognition of the truth that every adversity carries with it the seed of an equivalent benefit, that temporary defeat is not failure until it has been accepted as such.
  6. The habit of affirming one’s Definite Major Purpose in life, in a ceremony of meditation, at least once daily.
  7. Recognition of the existence of Infinite Intelligence, which gives orderliness to the universe; that all individuals are minute expressions of this Intelligence, and the individual mind has no limitations except those which are accepted and set up by the individual in his or her own mind.
  8. A careful inventory (in retrospect) of one’s past defeats and adversities, which will reveal the truth that all such experiences carry the seed of an equivalent benefit.
  9. Self-respect expressed through harmony with one’s own conscience.
  10. Recognition of the oneness of all humankind.

  1. Positive mental attitude

All riches begin with a state of mind. And remember, it is the one thing over which you have sole control. This is the starting point of all riches, whether they be material or intangible. It attracts true friendship and the hope of future achievement. You labor in the highest plane of your soul, creating. It attracts harmony in home relationships and friendly cooperation. It frees you from fear and provides you with the riches of enthusiasm. It inspires you with the riches of song and laughter, which indicate your state of mind. The joy of knowing that the mind can and will serve any desired end if one will take possession of it and fuel it with a definite purpose. It elicits the riches of play through which one may lay aside all of the burdens of life and become as a little child again. It puts you in touch with one’s “other self” – the self which knows no such reality as permanent failure. The wisdom of meditation through which one may draw upon the great universal supply of infinite intelligence at will. These and all other riches begin with a positive mental attitude.

  2. Sound Physical Health

Sound health begins with a “health consciousness” produced by a mind that thinks in terms of health instead of sickness. It requires temperance in eating and commitment to physical activity.

  3. Harmony in Human Relationships

Harmony with others begins with yourself. “To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou cans’t not then be false to any man” ~Shakespeare

  4. Freedom from Fear

Nobody who fears anything is free. The seven basic fears that appear in the mind are poverty, criticism, ill health, loss of love, loss of liberty, old age, and death.

  5. The Hope of Achievement

The greatest of all forms of happiness comes from hope of achievement of some yet unattained desire.

  6. The Capacity for Faith

Faith is the connection with the conscious mind and all that is. It is the fertile soil of the garden of the human mind where all riches in life are produced. It is the stuff that gives creative power and action to the impulses of your thoughts.

  7. Willingness to Share One’s Blessings

Happiness comes only by sharing. Riches that are not shared will ultimately die. All riches may be multiplied by the simple process of sharing them where they may serve others.

  8. Labor of Love

Labor is the highest form of human expression of desire. The forerunner of all human progress. All labors of love are sanctified because they bring the joy of self-expression.

  9. An Open Mind on All Subjects

It is only the person with an open mind who becomes truly educated and who is thus prepared to receive the greater riches of life.

  10. Self-Discipline

The person who cannot master himself may never become of the master of anything else. Those that master themselves become the masters of their destiny. The greatest expression of this is in humility of the hear when one has attained great riches or has been overtaken by that which is called “success”.

  11. Capacity to Understand People

Comes from the basic understanding that all people are fundamentally like and evolved from the same place. Those who understand what motivates others must first understand what motivates themselves.

  12. Economic Security

Economic security is not attained by the possession of money alone. It is attained by the service one renders – for this may be converted into all forms of human needs, with or without the use of money.

    Editorial by W. Clement Stone

Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have, give I to you – (Acts 3:6).

Be Generous! Give to those whom you love; give to those who love you; give to the fortunate; give to the unfortunate; yes – give especially to those to whom you don’t want to give.

Your most precious, valued possessions and your greatest powers are invisible and intangible. No one can take them. You, and you alone, can give them. You will receive abundance for your giving. The more you give – the more you will have!

GIVE a smile to everyone you meet (smile with your eyes) – and you’ll smile and receive smiles . . .

GIVE a kind word (with a kindly thought behind the word) – you will be kind and receive kind words . . .

GIVE appreciation (warmth from the heart) – you will appreciate and be appreciated . . .

GIVE honor, credit and applause (the victor’s wreath) you will be honorable and receive credit and applause . . .

GIVE time for a worthy cause (with eagerness) – you will be worthy and richly rewarded . . .

GIVE hope (the magic ingredient for success) – you will have hope and be made hopeful . . .

GIVE happiness (a most treasured state of mind) – you will be happy and be made happy . . .

GIVE encouragement (the incentive to action) – you will have courage and be encouraged . . .

GIVE cheer (the verbal sunshine) – you’ll be cheerful and cheered . . .

GIVE a pleasant response (the neutralizer of irritants) – you will be pleasant and receive pleasant responses . . .

GIVE good thoughts (nature’s character builder) – you will be good and the world will have good thoughts for you . . .

GIVE prayers (the instrument of miracles) for the godless and the godly – you will be reverent and receive blessings – more than you deserve!

    Be Generous! GIVE!

    Unexpected Return

I had a very interesting (and happy) thing happen to me a few weeks ago. It was a Wednesday, and I had just picked up my son from the daycare. We were pulling out of the parking lot, when I noticed someone across the street with the hood up on their car. Normally, I wouldn’t have stopped (especially not with my son in the car), but I had a feeling I needed to.

So, I pulled over there, got out of the car and was met by a woman in her mid 40’s. She was dressed professionally, and by the way she looked, I thought maybe she was a doctor, lawyer or the like. I remember thinking to myself that surely she had a cell phone and had already called for help. Still, I went on over to her.

She told me her car had died on her way to the airport. She was going out of town for a couple of days to visit with her mother, who was ill. She was so upset about the car that she dropped her cell phone on the pavement while trying to call for help and it wouldn’t work any more. I told her not to worry, I had one and I’d stay with her until help came.

She made a couple of calls and had someone on the way to tow her car. She couldn’t get in touch with her husband. Having a few minutes to spare and not being that far from the airport, I told her I’d run her to catch her plane if it would help. She was so excited I offered! She thanked me and we got her bags from the back of the car. Once her car was on its way, I drove her to the airport, we exchanged numbers and she was on her way. I felt really good.

I talked to her again after she returned. She called just to thank me again for rescuing her. And, asked if I would give her my address so she could mail me a thank you card. I gave it to her and we hung up. Several days later, a card arrived from her. Written inside the face of the card was this note:

“It is so wonderful that there are people in this world still willing to go out of their way to do something nice for strangers. I was very distraught the day you stopped, but you calmed me down and helped me on my way. Thanks to you, I was able to go visit with my mother. What you don’t know is that she will not be around much longer. This was my last visit with her, I’m afraid. So, thank you for helping me to do that. I would be making a mistake if I did not try to repay your kindness. I know you helped me and did not expect anything in return. (Which makes it that much better!) Enclosed is a token of thanks from my husband and me. Do something nice for your family with it.”

Enclosed was a check for $500.00. I was dumfounded. What she didn’t know was that my wife had lost her job a couple of months ago. She had found another one, but we were a little behind. That day, I had been wondering where we were going to get the money to make some of our bills. Now, here I sat with the money we needed. I guess the lesson is obvious. Do good, get good. And, I’m thankful for that

If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. Wherever you are — if you are following your bliss, you are enjoying that refreshment, that life within you, all the time.

Joseph Campbell – The Power of Myth

Now, I came to this idea of bliss because in Sanskrit, which is the great spiritual language of the world, there are three terms that represent the brink, the jumping-off place to the ocean of transcendence: sat-chit-ananda. The word “Sat” means being. “Chit” means consciousness. “Ananda” means bliss or rapture. I thought, “I don’t know whether my consciousness is proper consciousness or not; I don’t know whether what I know of my being is my proper being or not; but I do know where my rapture is. So let me hang on to rapture, and that will bring me both my consciousness and my being.” I think it worked.
